Singing Priest visits Germany

Filipinos and Germans were inspired by his songs. They cheered and clapped. They sang and danced with Fr. Raul Caga SVD, the singing (and dancing) priest from the Philippines.

In connection with his German Gospel Concert Tour, Fr. Raul Caga's engagement in Berlin on June 17, 2007 was definitely successful.
He has been moving around Germany, visiting churches and communities for two months. He arrived in Germany on May 4, 2007 together with his Musical Director Nes Marcelo for his Concert Tour. He has performed in Bonn, Karlsruhe, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Offenburg and Berlin.

Fr. Raul comes from Surigao del Norte and was ordained priest of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) on December 8, 1993 in Tagaytay City where he also studied and is presently a Professor of Moral Theology. His first assignment was in Agusan del Sur before being transferred to Davao City as Vocation Director of the Divine Word Formation Center. From 2001 until 2003 he studied Moral Theology in Rome.

Since his seminary days, he has been singing and composing. He composed the song “Life is Beautiful” which was also the name of his first album.
He staged his first Gospel Concert Tour in Davao, Agusan and Quezon City in April 2001. Two years later, he performed in Rome, Italy. Then he went to Canada and Germany. During his first German Tour in 2005, he visited eight major German cities including Franfurt, Hamburg, Munich and Berlin. Last year, he had a major concert in Laoag City and in Hong Kong where he launched his new album, “Called by Love.”

Through his concerts, he was able to raise funds for the support of the Divine Word Seminary in Tagaytay City. By establishing the Arnoldus Communications Center (ARCOM), he renews his commitment in sharing the Good News through spiritual songs. Fr. Raul has inspired many Filipinos, Germans and people from other countries by his presence, his smile and his angelic voice.
