Filipino Choir sings in International Concert

“He has done all things well; he makes the deaf hear and the dumb speak.” (Mark 7:37) This is the theme of the Week of Prayer for the Unity of Christians from January 18 to 25, 2007. As a concrete response to foster this unity, the International Convent of Christian Communities in Berlin and Brandenburg, organized an International Choir Concert on January 19 at the Passion Church in Kreuzberg-Berlin.

The Loved Flock Choir sang during the International Concert in Berlin!
The three Christian Choirs who participated in the concert were, Choir of the Greek-Orthodox Community of the Ascension Parish, the Choir of the Baptist-Angola Community and the Loved Flock Choir of the Philippine Community in Berlin.

The songs rendered show the different cultural background of the choirs. The Baptist-Angola Choir opened the concert with three dynamic and lively songs. The Greek-Orthodox Choir sang meditative chants leading one to meditation.
The Filipino Loved Flock Choir sang “Anima Christi”, “Tanging Yaman” during the first part and “Ama Namin” and “Hallelujah to the Lamb”, during the second part of the concert.
The International Convent is an association of 31 migrant Christian communities in Berlin. The group, founded more than 20 year ago, aims to foster unity and dialogue among the different Churches in Berlin and Brandenburg and between Germans and foreigners through religious, cultural and civic events.
